This article will help you decide on the right domain name for your business.
Firstly, don’t call your website Toms&TimmysLocalGardening-Shop.com. Do you need me to explain why?
It confuses your audience
- Is it Toms&Timmys or TomsAndTimmys?
- The domain name is waaaay too long.
- You will have to explain the dash, hyphen or a minus-sign? Even I'm confused.
But most importantly,
No one will search for "Tom’s & Timmy’s Local Gardening Service" on Google.
Let's say you're based in Gorey, I would call my website, GoreyGardeners.com or GardenersInGorey.com as that is what people will type into Google. It also rolls off the tongue. Plus it’s memorable. It's free marketing as it cost nothing to decide on the right domain name. So before deciding on a Domain Name, or a company name, think what you would like people to type into Google to find you.
Oh, if you're in business a long time and your company name is "Tom’s & Timmy’s Local Gardening Service", change it.
Lasty.
If you have a commercial vehicle or van, I recommend for a white white van, your website, email & phone number in big, bold & black writing. You would be surprised how many vans have light logo on a white van or a dark logo on a black van. You would be even more surprised at how many commercial vans i see with no logo! This is basic 101 free advertising people!
